“Cannot ventilate cannot Intubate” Newborns
نویسنده
چکیده
In any event, ventilation of the newborn must be realized with an appropriate technique within the period till the achievement of emergency tracheostomy, provision of successful intubation, or wakening of the newborn. Every anesthesiologist should be wellinformed of and familiar with at least one technique for ensuring transtracheal oxygenation in emergencies. It is also important to have the required equipments in the working area ready to be used in emergencies.

Can sugammadex save a patient in a simulated 'cannot intubate, cannot ventilate' situation?
Recent studies have shown that the use of high dose rocuronium followed by sugammadex provides a faster time to recovery from neuromuscular blockade following rapid sequence induction than suxamethonium. In a manikin-based 'cannot intubate, cannot ventilate' simulation, we studied the total time taken for anaesthetic teams to prepare and administer sugammadex from the time of their initial deci...

متن کاملCannot ventilate-cannot intubate an infant: surgical tracheotomy or transtracheal cannula?
BACKGROUND An unanticipated difficult airway is very uncommon in infants. The recommendations for managing the cannot ventilate-cannot intubate (CVCI) situation in infants and small children are based on difficult airway algorithms for adults. These algorithms usually recommend placement of a transtracheal cannula or performing a surgical tracheotomy as a last resort. In this study, we compared...
متن کاملDifficult Airway Due to an Undiagnosed Subglottic Tumor
The "cannot ventilate, cannot intubate" scenario during anesthesia induction can be lethal. We present a patient with an undiagnosed subglottic tumor who developed the "cannot ventilate, cannot intubate" situation after induction of general anesthesia, due to the presence of an undiagnosed subglottic tumor. A 93-year-old woman was brought to the operating room for repair of a femoral neck fract...
